The Power of Collaboration for Analyst Teams with Falkor

If you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, go together.

Effective collaboration is the key to cracking cases. No one analyst can comprehensively develop and maintain the requisite, cross-field deep expertise required to investigate today’s cross-domain cases.

Collaboration on complex, data-rich cases though is no easy task. Falkor’s collaboration suite changes the game entirely.

We at Falkor have taken our team’s diverse and broad experience in intelligence and investigations and used it to create an industry-leading, intuitive and powerful collaboration suite meant to empower the analyst.

Opening and editing a case

It all begins and ends in cases. Cases are what we investigate, and Falkor’s case management capabilities on top of its relational database are where we investigate. When users open a new case, only those with admin-privileges and those assigned to the case will have access. This is critical for proper data security and compartmentalization, as well as organization.

  • Assign team members to your case

If you're working on a case with a colleague, you can assign him or her to your case when opening it. The people you assign will receive a notification about it, and can seamlessly access the new case.

  • Case Editing

Cases aren’t set in stone. Case settings, descriptions and team member assignments can be changed at the click of a button. Just click the “Edit Case” button (shown below) and edit fields, add users and more. The same applies to removing data and users as well.

Task Assignment

Falkor’s native task management system empowers teams and users to open tasks, assign them to colleagues, add due dates and tag relevant entities.

Tasks can only be added in the context of a case.

We recommend filling out all of the fields - so that assigned teammates know exactly what's expected of them.

  • Meet your deadlines

Time is the one resource you can’t buy, so making the most of it is critical. Falkor’s feature suite helps you stay on track and spot possible holdups, making sure that you get the right information at the right time.

  • Task Management

Falkor also gives you control over tasks assigned to you. Falkor’s task management features allow you to open tasks, give them a due date, an urgency level, an assigned person, and finally - the ability to mark them as complete when done.

  • Track progress

The board is a living entity that is always updated to reflect where things stand. Each person in the team can show visually the status of each task using the status column, keeping everyone on the same page. Furthermore, you can see real time notifications whenever your team changes the activity status.

  • Attach relevant items to the task
Context is king, so tasks in Falkor don’t come empty-handed. Tasks can be assigned with affiliated entities tied to them directly. For example, if you're looking into a company, and you have this company's entity in your path, select it before creating your task (you can even click on the Task option in the toolbar once the entities are selected), and the company’s entity will be tied directly to the task.
This way, the relevant data from the system is part of the task, the entity's display name is shown, and it's easier to know what we're working on. When a user is assigned to a task, they will receive a notification about it - and they know exactly where to find it.

Writing notes

The pen is mightier than the sword, and there’s no better way to show that than expanding upon your maps, link analysis charts and tables than by adding insightful notes! Furthermore, every note you add will be automatically added to your investigation report so your colleagues get to see your insights.

  • Attaching Notes to Entities

You can add a note by its lonesome to a path, but it can also be attached to one or multiple entities.

A note can also be added through an entity's profile. This affiliates the note with the entity across the Falkor database, meaning it will now appear alongside its affiliated node in other cases where that node appears as well.

  • Adding Screenshots to Notes

We at Falkor are believers in visual learning. Enhancing your notes with screenshots and images can help make them easier to understand for other analysts, managers and stakeholders.

We highly recommend taking a screenshot (or two) of the path you're looking at while writing your note. You can also take multiple screenshots - for example, the same data set but in different views (table, map, link analysis, and timeline).

Sharing Profiles

Each data piece - or entity - in the system has a profile. You may send this profile to anyone on your team by clicking the Share profile button.

  • Add a message

You can add a message so they know why you're sending them this data in that moment.

  • Real time notifications

The recipient will receive a notification, with a link to that entity's profile so that he or she can use the entity in his or her investigation and follow your work flow.

Generating, Exporting and Sharing Reports

With Falkor you don’t need to spend as much time report-writing as you used to - Falkor’s native report generation feature will transform you case into a structured report at the click of a button.

  • Export reports with one click

Falkor will integrate all of the relevant information you added - case information, notes, entities, files - into a professional report. You can select which sections to include or exclude.

  • Share your report with your team members

You can share your report with team members. This way, the relevant people will be notified when your report is ready, and by clicking on their notification tab they can automatically download the Word version of the report. You can share a report with someone who was not assigned to the case originally - so if they only need to see the final conclusions

  • Editable format

Exporting the report in Word format allows you to add comments and ideas.
